ABOUT ME

I’m Danny Neumann!

As a sustainability leader with extensive experience driving responsible sourcing, ethical supply chain practices, and ESG performance for multinational corporations, my mission has always been clear: to use business as a force for positive social and environmental change.

My journey began in college, where I chose to study education and had the opportunity to teach and work with a micro-enterprise tile manufacturing company in Malawi, Africa. This was my first exposure to manufacturing in the developing world and the profound impact business can have on people's lives. It was this experience that solidified my commitment to improving lives through ethical business practices.

Recognizing the emerging role of sustainability in the corporate world, I pursued an MBA in Environmental and Social Sustainability. This led to my first corporate role at Cabela's, where I helped launch and eventually led their social compliance program. I navigated the company's transition from internal to external auditing, gaining invaluable experience with both models and their respective benefits for responsible sourcing.

Later, as a Subject Matter Expert in Responsible Sourcing at UL, I provided technical support for sales, helping clients develop effective programs. This included creating Codes of Conduct, designing audit and grading tools, and incorporating continuous improvement and capacity-building strategies.

Most recently, at Thrasio, I developed and led the company’s first sustainability program. This initiative included establishing a responsible sourcing program, tracking greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and conducting product sustainability evaluations. I also spearheaded our inaugural ESG reporting, including the S&P 500 Corporate Social Responsibility Assessment.

My career is a testament to my belief that it is the responsibility of companies to understand where and how their products are made, and to use that knowledge to create a better world for all stakeholders. With my diverse background, from on-the-ground education to high-level corporate strategy, I am uniquely positioned to guide companies in making responsible progress.

I hold an MBA in Environmental and Social Sustainability from Colorado Technical University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Kansas.
